Theatre art classes for all is a service FTWETNJ provides to the extended community. All people from all areas are invited to participate. Some scholarships available to those in financial need.

Classes and workshops are taught by our director, Maeve Pambianchi, who is a professionally trained actor, dancer, and singer with years of experience in performing as well as teaching and directing. Ms Pambianchi has taught hundreds of young people and with great success and enjoys the task. Guest artists also teach from time to time bringing diversity and challenge.

Acting technique, stage presence, body language, characterization among other skills is taught using theatre exercises and games, scripts and monologues. The purpose of these classes is to help the people, young and old, to develop life skills, whether they choose to perform or not. These skills include listening, keen observation, teamwork, responsibility the ability to stand in front of an audience, or their peers, and speak confidently without fear.

It is not required to perform in a play and the classes are not pointed toward that end. Although it is best to solidify learned technique with a presentation of some sort either by participating in a scene showcase or live filmed monologue.

Classes are scheduled by age.

We recommend that students attend class twice per week during the sessions, when possible, to promote continuity.

We try to be flexible as some students have had more experience than others and therefore, may be able to attend a class for older students. Everyone is busy with many activities and schedules don’t always coincide.

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays and a Theatre Arts Lab on Sundays for more adults and more experienced performers of any age. You must contact us by email or phone before attending class.
